What you'll need
- Two contrasting nail polish colors
- A hair dryer
- Paper reinforcers
Total amount of time: about 10 minutes.
What to do
1) Paint your nails with your main color. I chose Sally Hansen in Peachy Keen for a natural base color.3) Now with your second nail polish color, paint a thin strip across the base of your nail. It's okay to paint on the reinforcer.
4) With your hairdryer on the lowest speed and coolest temperature (Do not use "hot" unless you want to burn your fingers!) dry your nails. This is the best way to dry your nails in the quickest amount of time, takes about a minute for each hand and you won't feel dizzy from blowing on your fingers.
5) With your nails semi-dry, peel off the reinforcer. Dry again with your hair-dryer to make sure they are all completely dry.
6) Apply a clear top coat of nail polish to finish, and you're done!
More ideas and inspiration
- Try different contrasting colors, like blue and yellow, for a bold look
- Change the position of the paper reinforcements for a half-moon that is smaller, larger, or at a different position on the nail
- Place multiple reinforcements across your nail for an easy polka-dot look
- Or try a rainbow look: Begin with the reinforcement at its furthest position from your base and paint with one color. When dry, place the reinforcement a little lower and paint with a different color. Repeat until your half-moon is a rainbow of different colors!
